Our Staff

All staff members at Water Monkey go through background checks and interviews before being allowed to join the team. We take our jobs seriously here so that our families can be at ease with their kids shipping off for a week with us at the lake.

Evan Goldner - Founder/director

Evan has been working in the camp industry since 2004 and brings a lifetime of outdoors experience and education with him wherever he goes. He will talk your ear off about the benefits of summer camp, saving the environment, books, movies or his adventures in over 30 countries spanning five continents.

Home base for Evan is in Hooksett, NH with his wife, Kristen, sons, Finn & Kai, and rescue pup Tuckerman. Evan dedicates his days to enjoying the outdoors, seeking new challenges and helping others take part in this path that he has chosen.

RYAN HINRICHs - head coach & Assistant director

Campers know Ryan as an amazing wakeboarder with the patience and experience to coach them through any skill or new trick behind the boat. We know him as the all-around talented guy who never says no to a challenge and will humbly let his skills do all the talking. Ryan has been coaching here since 2014 and has been the head coach since 2016.

Ryan is a graduate of ASU where he was the VP of their wakeboard club. He now lives year-round at camp and is rarely found indoors.

Kevin aboff - coach

Kevin was a longtime Water Monkey camper who always kept us upping our game as he mastered inverts and raleys at 15 and 16 years old. He taught wakeboarding, wakesurfing and waterskiing last summer in his home state of New York and now rides competitively as a member of the ASU Wake Devils. Kevin loves a good adventure and can often be found snowboarding or surfing when not busy with school. He is looking forward to bringing his experience as a camper to his work here and giving our campers the coaching and mentorship that helped get him to the level he is at now!

Certifications: NH Commercial Boat Driver, Red Cross Lifeguard

katelin wilson - waterski coach

Katelin hails from San Diego where she has been waterskiing since she was four years old! She is now a sophomore at ASU where she skis competitively for their team, the Sun Devils. Katelin also plays four instruments (we hope she busts out those skills this summer) and loves to hike and explore the desert in AZ.

Certifications: NH Commercial Boat Driver, Red Cross Lifeguard

Michael Hering - coach

Mike is a NH native who grew up spending all of his free time out on Newfound Lake wakeboarding and driving wake boats. He now lives in Colorado where he is a sophomore at UC Boulder (really just a convenient excuse to get to ski all of the time!). Having worked the last few summers behind the scenes at a marina he is most looking forward to getting to work hands-on with our campers and share his passion for watersports.

sarah blanchard - waterski coach

Sarah grew up spending summers at her family lake house enjoying lake life behind their boat. She is graduating from Syracuse University in the spring and, having always wanted to experience camp, decided to join Water Monkey before she enters the ‘real world’ in the fall. Sarah enjoys traveling (she spent a semester abroad in Australia) and running (she recently ran a half marathon in a blizzard). Sarah is so excited to meet our campers and make sure they have a great time.

Certifications: NH Commercial Boat Driver, Red Cross Lifeguard

Justin Cole – Coach

Justin is a first time staff member here at camp who is coming east all the way from California. He has been wakeboarding and wakesurfing his entire life and never takes himself too seriously (see profile picture of wakeskating on a surf rope). Justin also plays competitive Spikeball and Ultimate Frisbee and is looking forward to some epic evening program matches here at camp.

Rebecca Calhoun - Chef

Rebecca has been cooking professionally for 17 years but 2018 will be her first time at camp! She is currently the chef at a fraternity house at Emory University where she cooks daily meals for 50 hungry college guys…experience that should prepare her well for feeding our hard working campers! When she is not cooking or coming up with creative, healthy and diverse menu options for her clients Rebecca can be found at her historic farm house home in Georgia with her family, dog and three potbelly pigs! She also loves painting, gardening, live music and camping.
