april showers bring...may showers

As hard as I try I cannot control the weather. In the summer I wish I could snap my fingers and make the wind disappear on the lake. Come winter I would like to dance a jig and get a few feet a powder. Every fall…well fall in NH is pretty perfect. This spring, though, I have definitely been trying to will the rain away but have had no luck yet. It is great for our trees, grass and the health of the lake but is really delaying our landscaping, painting and outdoor work at camp (and keeping mountain biking trails too wet to ride).

These shots are typical of the weather lately. The lake is super high (and a wee bit chilly still). Up at the cabins I was on the roof blowing leaves and pine needles away and snapped this shot just before the sky opened up on me.

The bottom line is that, according to our instagram poll yesterday, 72% of you say the sun will make an appearance again someday and that is good enough for me!

See you outside!

Come and meet me at the new england boat show!

This weekend (February 9 and 10) I will be at the MasterCraft booth at the New England Boat Show. Stop by to check out all of the awesome new boats and toys and find me to chat about camp! The boat show is always a good time and a great excuse to get to the Boston Seaport.

See you there!

It's a new year!

Happy New Year to all of our campers and friends! We have been busy these past few weeks assembling our new staff and helping parents sign kids up for camp. Paperwork is not always fun so I try to get to the lake and tinker around a few times a month during the winter. I was up there the other day and things are looking icy!

So far there is not much snow yet and, weirdly, the lake is still mostly unfrozen but there is a glaze over pretty much everything else!

Someone definitely appreciated the open water:

Hit us up any time!

Boat design contest!

It it tough to come up with color ideas for all of our new boats! Help us out by heading to the MasterCraft website to design your ideal 2019 NXT 22.

The winning design(s) will not only get to see their boat come to life but we will also send you a camp SWAG package in the mail.

  • Follow this link --> MasterCraft <--- to get to the NXT22 boat builder site.

  • Choose your colors for the hull and interior. (Don't worry about other options, we'll take care of that.)

  • Submit your design to Evan@watermonkeycamp.com by October 20

If you don’t contribute your ideas we may just have to build the rasta boat!

New boats being built...

For 2018 we have two brand-spanking-new Mastercraft NXT 22's coming our way! We always get new equipment for our campers each season but this is the first year that we decided to extend that to our boats as well. Mastercraft was kind enough to send us some pictures of one of the boats throughout its creation process:

It is pretty cool to see the progression from a tub of fiberglass to a shiny, finished boat. We are loving that new ZFT2 tower!

Both boats will be arriving in NH later this month for a bit of customization before we take delivery. Stay posted for shots of us breaking them in on the lake as soon as the ice is out!
