Over the past few weeks there have been a lot of teasers online regarding a new type of "jet" surfboard...pictures on Instagram of surfers trying them out or short video clips online of test runs. Well it seems as if the company is out of prototype stage and on to building some pretty sweet looking machines.

So what if they are a cool $13,500 each? Carving up the glassy lake at 30 MPH would be unreal! I guess we will see if this turns out to be an expensive fad or a new sport. Regardless, we are looking forward to getting our hands on one to try out if we ever have the chance!
As the leaves begin to change and the lake temperature is dropping by the day we at Water Monkey have to finally admit that the summer is almost over. Every extra day we get on the boat now is just icing on the ridiculous cake which was our 2013 season. We could not be happier with where the camp has gotten in such a short amount of time. Many thanks to everyone who was involved this year: the campers for giving it their all and dedicating themselves to learning and having fun, my staff for working tirelessly this summer to deliver top notch watersports instruction, gourmet food, and constant entertainment to our campers, our host camp for letting us take over our little island on their property, and my friends and family who helped me renovate our awesome cabin. Camp would not have happened if it were not for all of you!

It is pretty interesting to look back at snapshots from decades ago and see campers having fun just like we do nowadays (minus high performance wake boats).
With the ridiculous progression in camera technology that was happened over the past few years it is tough to predict what kind of "pictures" we will have of campers in 50 or 60 years. One sure thing is that when we look back on our present day shots half a century from now we will see campers being campers, having a good time.
